So i swung by the local goose hangout this morning and came up empty - completely vacant. Gonna be difficult finding live geese in my neck of the woods this time of year. But i saw this gal in a front yard on my way to work, so it will have to do!

Next mission gets a choice, as I am not sure how common either of these will be to find. I would like to see a speed limit sign ending in a number other than 0 or 5, or a street intersection sign atop a pole with 3 or more different street sign plates attached. Good luck!

Good one, Flangehead.

I'm looking forward to seeing who comes up with a runway pic.

Yeah, if a mission is met, that poster should post a new mission. Makes things go smoother I think. Seems like people got the hang of it. This is so much fun. I do have a runway near me. But would need to throw my bike in the trunk. We'll see if someone else comes up with it. Seems doable.

Burlington Regional Airport, 2 miles from my house.

Next mission should be a recent photo of an adult couple who appear to be going out on the town on bicycles and dressed up for the occasion, i.e. no garish kit, no bar crawl duds, no hipster plaid. Nice clothes, not necessarily formal wear. Business attire is good too. Can be on two bikes, a tandem, or one giving the other a ride on the bicycle rack (as is common in NL) or top bar.

COOL POST!!!!

To be clear about the missions. The missions should be chosen with one of us as the riders in mind. So your mission was a picture of "A couple". The point of the missions are to get us out on bikes and look for things to take pics of on our rides. If that is what you meant, I'm all for it. But it sounded like you mean some "random" couple.

But if you want one of us to get gussied up with our Significant other and take a pic, than that is your preroggative. You earned it. Nice pics, BTW.

Yeah, the current mission is 100% impossible for me-- people don't cycle commute here really, and it's not a city environment so the only people on bikes are kitted-out roadies or the homeless.

Thanks for the clarification. If you think it is unlikely that the BF participants while on a ride are unlikely to find a gussified bicycle rider in the wild, let alone a couple (outside of a twee "Tweed Ride"), then I will alter the mission, but need a few hours to think of something. I will post the new mission later today.

New mission! Take picture of self or some other bicycle rider you see using their bicycle for transportation (not as a fitness or training activity) to get to an obvious non-work, non-shopping, non higher educational location. Examples are another sporting activity as indicated by fishing, golf, baseball/football gear; picnic baskets/beer coolers; pacing a runner or track team, etc.

Children riding to school is also acceptable. Arriving departing from a sporting event, concert or show is good too.

No obvious bicycle clothing/kit allowed in picture other than a helmet.

An example I could have taken recently was the local community college's soccer teams (men and women) practice on a field located about a mile from its dormitories where many students (mostly foreign) who do not have access to a car reside. Many of these students (at least 40) were using bicycles everyday to ride in their soccer outfits to and from campus/residence to practice.

Not sure if this qualifies or not, but these pictures are from tonight's pedal pub ride. Definitely not a training ride, and no cycling attire to be found. Transportation is to local bars for some brews and conversation. Weekly ride, all year long. This weeks ride was balmy in the 40's and thunderstorms! Pics were taken at a pub that encourages us to bring the bikes inside!

A pub with such a cool policy deserves to have its name mentioned!

I'm guessing they didn't ride there for the billiards.

Congratulations, your posted pictures are right on target; people riding bicycles to aid or add to the enjoyment of non bicycling activities, all without excessive Cycling Enthusiast™ drama or twee.

Salsa Shark, the mission assignment baton is passed on to you.

One second--the guy on the right is wearing a "Raleigh" t-shirt. Definitely not a snooty brand, but that's a shade into cycling enthusiasm.

I'm kidding, I just want to get the name of the pub posted.

Those pub photos were snapped at the local American Legion, Post 6. It's a great stop, and we have a couple of Veterans that ride with us regularly.

For the next mission, i would like to see your bike next to a covered bridge. Good luck!

Definitely from the archives, but I just like that I have it. I'm enjoying this thread and jealous because I've been stuck in the gym.
