Not in Madison County

So I've ridden over to the big office to get help for my Windows 7 computer (don't ask..) and as the machine goes through its 10 minute bootup, I have a chance to see how the pics are developing...

.. and I see the new challenge is a covered bridge... which I immediately classify as "none of those around these parts" … and then I look out the window:

View out the window of the big office IT area..

Of course IT issues take forever so it was dark by the time I got outside:

Solid structure over water with a roof.. a covered bridge, eh?

Submission OK'd by OP.

Seeking: Steel Silo

He said "Covered Bridge" Not a specific kind. I vote you done good. We can see what he says if you want though. But I say you nailed it and could post a new mission. Do I get that kind of power if I started the thread? LOL.

This has been great. I'm glad you all have participated!!!! woooohoooooo!!!!

Nice trailer by the way.

Great photos ! I was kinda hoping somebody would find an unconventional solution to the covered bridge - great work!

On yesterday's ride I was all set to get a pic of a silo for submission as I was passing a few farms. But "steel" silos are not quite as common on New England farms as they are in the rest of the country. I was going to submit a pic of these two structures I passed on the left of this pic. They 'look' like grain silos, but alas they're water storage tanks for this power generating plant.
Tiverton (RI) Power Co.

BTW..that's not a photo I took. It's from online. There's no snow here yet.

Being from inland SoCal, I just wait these ones out. Silo? Not 'round these parts.

I can provide a silo picture if nobody else has one in their area.....gotta get out for a ride later this afternoon, and we got silos-a-plenty in Iowa.

Apparently in the industry, a water tank of this nature is sometimes referred to as a "water silo." As I said, the above pic is from a website. But if the OP will approve it, I can prove I was there with a screen shot of my Strava entry for the ride. The 'silos' can been seen next to my route. Or does my bike need to be in the picture?

So I went out for a rural county road ride this afternoon and passed by at least a hundred different silos of varying construction over the 33 mile ride. I could have taken tons of photos of the different styles and varying degrees of disrepair, but my ride would have taken forever and I wanted to get in before dark. Sooo....... I snapped a couple photos of the silos that i believe best represented the type that you were looking for. Enjoy!

Next mission: Solar farm

Per the OP's first post, the bike has to be in the photo. Some other photos have been posted, but those weren't entries into the game.

Yeah, bike in picture. Has to be a new photo. Nothing in the past. Obviously that is on the honor system. Someone can cheat if they want, but it's all about getting people to ride and then take pictures. Something fun to do and share.

I was prepared to wait a week for non fulfilled missions and at that point give the person to come up with a different mission. A week seems like a long time but I wasn't sure how much traffic this thread would get. We could do something shorter if most people want it to be shorter. And I suppose if a person continues to put up mission impossibles than I can intervene with a new mission. But I'd rather not do that. This thread is for everyone.

A solar farm??? Wow. I'm not even sure where one might find one of those..... But lets see if someone has one!!!!

I've seen a corporate solar array in Austin, Texas. I think it's in front of a Dell computers building. Can't remember exactly.

Anyway, I'm not riding my bike to Austin so I won't be tackling this one.

I thought it would be a cool picture....we have a decent sized solar power station on the outskirts of town here, so i was wondering how common that might be - maybe somebody else would have one close to home? Will give it a couple days and see if this proves too difficult. Maybe if somebody could just find a decent sized residential or business array that would suffice.

Well, once again from SoCal, so long as the weather cooperates, I can get you all of the solar farms you want. Every high school has one over the parking lot now, the local college has a sizeable one, heck, the church up the street has one.

But if I wake up in the morning and the wind is still doing 17mph (gusting to 25mph) from the NNE, I'm staying in bed.

Solar awnings! Next assignment: WATERSLIDE

Solar awnings over part of East Parking @ San Bernardino International Airport. Do they work? <shrug>

Solar awnings over a chunk of the south lot @ Emmanuel Baptist Church, Highland, CA. Twelve foot clearance seems a little excessive to me.

I said "waterslide" in my last post, #93 . There's waterslides everywhere... right? I'm in short riding distance of two.

They're everywhere in the city I'm at. Actually I have to ask, the roads are icy, it's raining. Every road we're on is like a water slide. Does that count? Lol. My bikes are 250 miles away thou...
