Did I buy the wrong size?

Hey there was hoping to have some expert opinions on if I bought the wrong size bike. I’m 6’1 and 225 pounds (lean muscle ex bodybuilder) and I bought the X-Large Giant Defy Advanced Pro 0. On Giants website the specs are height 6’2 - 6’7 and for the Large size height 6’0 - 6’4. With my height it seems the Large was a better choice? Can I configure my X-Large to my size comparable to the Large do you think?

How do you feel when you ride the bike for both short and long periods of time?

If your riding is sporadic in nature, then no size will ever feel quite right for long periods of time. If you do ride several times a week for more than an hour at a time, then where you feel something that bothers you, you need to ask about it, here or a helpful person at a nearby bike shop.

Otherwise, don't stress over the numbers and hypothesize as to whether it's the perfect size for you. Go out on that bike and ride it so you'll have some experience in whether it is or isn't the right size.

I've been on frames from 64 cm to 56 cm and frequently rode 100 mile rides on all of them but the 56. As the 56 cm is only a couple months old. I have always been able to make them comfortable for me with little effort or cost.

Without photos of you on the bike in various positions, no way for anyone to know, since there are variations to human dimensions. I don't believe you can post a photo until you have 10 posts. Barring that, you could put your measurements into a bike fit calculator and compare it to the frame dimensions of the two bikes. I advise always going by effective top tube length more than any other dimension, though standover height is a major concern for some.
