Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So, looking for gifts for my son, what is the best source for some alloy wheels? Reasonably priced, of course. He rides a fixie if that matters.

This guy is a fixie specialist and, I think, a BF member. Looks like there is a pretty good selection.

Too bad they couldn't find someone with a cherry picker to donate a couple hours of time to decorate the top of the tree.

Funny. I was just saying that to a friend of mine. Even one of those movable lifts, The sidewalk there is plenty wide to accommodate one.

I've bought 3-4 sets of wheels from Velomine. Lots of budget yet still quality alloy options, at least the last time I looked.

I have now. Crazy is an understatement. I didn't even imagine octopi live in that part of the world. Most of my experience with them has been in southern Spain, so I guess I assumed they were relatively warm(er) water creatures. Wonder if the eagle tried to snag the octopus.

I've begun my winter weight loss program. It's just too bad that I like chocolate as much as I do. I'm eating a lot more grapefruits, and will soon leave the protein powder behind, consuming stinging nettes in its stead. Much, much cheaper, no Big Agri hormones, and still a complete protein. Whodathunkit?
At some point I would like to up my daily distance as well.

Octopi are badasses. There was an aquarium that wanted to release an octopus in to the same tank with some sharks. They were a little concerned for the safety of the octopus, but they figured it could hide from the sharks and stay safe.

Then the sharks started disappearing. The set up a camera and the octopus was, of course, snatchin' up the sharks for a late night snack.

Surprisingly intelligent too. No one knows how they do it with a few hundred million neurons distributed all over their bodies.

Is it them or the squid that have the humongous neurons? I think it's squid, right??
