Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks Billy. I just figured I best hush, because it seemed no one believed me, and would rather promote that myth.

KC looked so bad in the first quarter, but it was fluky and out-of-sync stuff, and then it all started coming back together.

I limped back with the usual scapula to buttocks involvement in addition to a direct hit to my big toe which caused a twisting of my ankle.

I will put my cleats on the new shoes along with my shims for leg length discrepancy and give it a go on the old bike tomorrow.

The front part of the rigid sole of the involved shoe was broken off requiring replacement. Pedal involved also was broken.

I don't want to do that again and advise against it.

It’s actually a pretty good song. Could be worse...

Yesterday’s ride featured someone’s phone alarm going off repeatedly. Which led to an awful rendition of S.O.S. by ABBA.

Better than the people who ride around blasting music from their phone the entire time, as if everyone wants to listen to their music. Through tiny terrible speakers.

Back in the day of click-wheel iPods, I left mine on an airplane one day.
A week later, I went to the airport lost and found and asked them if they had an iPod.
They had a couple, and asked me what it looked like and if my name was on it.
It's white and no.
They asked me what the first song is (the preset format was alphabetically by artist and happened to be ABBA).
I considered just leaving the iPod there.

Agree. He doesn't do it as much, but he was calling the next play in the booth, and was right much of the time.

And besides that, which people talk about, he's the one AG finds informative enough that she pays much closer attention to the games he's calling. And the only one she immediately notices. Here's hoping we get 20+ years out of him doing this
