Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This truck just sold at auction to an anonymous Saudi for $12 million. How are you 'posed to see the road?

I hear it's not so nice.

This auction is somewhat historical, in the fact that it's the first time the cars were actually brought over to be seen in person. It also has an exemption for any car 25 years and older to be licensed, and street driven. One of the "cars" just happened to be a nitro burning Top Fuel Dragster. Oh to be a fly on the wall, or in the sand, as the case may be....

Looks like some Mad Max ****. Just add a fire-spewing guitar player and a couple dozen speakers.

FWIW, Granada, Nicaragua was a very nice place, in 2004.

'Posed to have gusts of up to 45 tomorrow. That will likely sideline the Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons.

We had wind and snow overnight. Installed a new o-ring on the snowblower's carb bowl and I got through the driveway and sidewalks, but it's still going through periods of running rough and bogging a bit when moving lots of snow. What gives? Did I just do a **** job of cleaning the carb or should I check elsewhere?

A guy I know has a walk/run/ride thing every Thanksgiving morning. It's in a valley area along a pretty creek. Should be sheltered from the wind. When you get back to the start area there are hot drinks and warm, fresh sticky buns from a well know bakery in town waiting. I'll probably drive to the start (15 min. away) and do some walking.

With fun people to suffer with almost any recreational punishment can be bearable. Sounds like a good way to sharpen the appetite.

I’m still futzing around with my blower. It runs awhile and then stops. Changed gas and ran carb cleaner though it but I now have it sitting facing a corner of the garage so it can think about how bad it’s been. Maybe it will do better tomorrow.

I'd set a course with the wind, get a dozen KOMs, and then have the missus pick me up.

try running it on partial choke see if it improves. If it does get better it still ha a blockage.

Also, water is a problem with small engines. Drain the fuel completely. Put it in a glass jar and let it settle. Look at the bottom, it will look like a bubble if there's water in it.
The water settles to the bottom and gets sucked into the pick up, but it's to thick to be drawn into the small diameter holes in the carb. So it will settle in the bowl and fowl things up.

We are in Granada. We have a 2 BR apartment in the Albacín district which is very beautiful and on a hill near the Alhambra. There do seem to be a large number of tourists, but they seem quite civilized.

The apartment has a lovely patio with a fountain and orange trees, as well as a rooftop terrace/patio.
