Rode bike today . . .
. . . Went 6 miles. I had knee replacement September 20th. Last week I did laps around the block to the tune of 2 miles.
I had the other knee done 12 years ago. It was getting tired of doing all the heavy lifting, literally.
Today I didn't go very fast, not fast at all really. I don't think it even counted as exercise but it felt good to get out and it's good to bend the knee. I even picked something up from the grocery store.
My surgery present is a folding bike. I've decided on the dahon vybe. It's under 30lbs, has fenders and rack.

Good for you!
In my opinion, fast is highly over rated. That being said, I got passed on the GAP by a young woman with only one leg.

6 miles just 6 weeks after TKA post-op - good job! I had both knees replaced earlier this year - did outpatient P.T. 3x/week and waited 2 months before getting back on a road bike... got tired of riding a stationary bike in the gym.
Gradually build-up the miles - please don't push too hard for awhile. I gently worked-up to 30+ mile rides after 3 months. Been about 9 months now and feeling great - no pain anymore. Good luck!
