Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Marathon racer 30s fit great in front. Slightly too big in back. Kenda kwick 30s also too big in back.

Do the Conti gp 4000s only go up to 700x25c, or do they go wider.

but the Contis run narrow, so I think I am going to stick with schwalbe Marathons for now. the 30s were ever so slightly too large in back, so their 28s should be perfect.

no go on the Kenda Kwicker 32c up front. maybe if I sanded down the tread a bit... wonder whether a 32c Marathon might fit

ordered a 28c Marathon for the back and then saw it was tight for someone else. guess we'll find out tmw...

You linked to the 4 Seasons, not the gp4000's, though.

I thought I saw them on amazon before, but they're not there now -
Amazon.com : Continental Grand Prix 4000S II Tire : Bike Tires : Sports & Outdoors

Performance Bike lists them in a 28c size though - "Continental Grand Prix 4000S II 700c Road Tire"
Continental Grand Prix 4000S II 700c Road Tire -

Great, I was looking at Ribbie(?)
I want the widest, best tire I can get for my 264 lbs decreasing butt.
What would a good pressure be for the 28s and a heavy load?

i've settled on a 30c Schwalbe Marathon Racer up front and a 28c Vittoria Randonneur Cross in back.

28c Marathon wouldn't fit in back, grr.

Conti GP Four Seasons 28 fits great in back. With the 30 Schwalbe Marathon Racer in front this is set up really well for a heavy guy like me.
