Hi Meathead,
Sorry that you felt your concerns were not responded to. Please PM me your username on dvdtalk and I'll see what's up.
The ad problem is a tough situation to tackle. We are, however, reporting all reports of mobile redirects and browser hijacks to the appropriate IB team. I can't promise a solution, but we are listening and know it's a big problem.
Thanks,
Tyson

FYI...
I found this forum looking for other websites owned by IB. The hijack issue is widespread among IB's sites. I'm from the dvdtalk.com website and we've had the hijack issue for months... According to an admin who's been in touch with IB (as IB will not respond to the problem or PMs about it) the issue is with their ad network.

It's still happening. I've gotten malicious advertising several times over the past week. I even got one just now in a different subforum.

You mean OS polysystemic, agnostic says it doesn't believe in an OS.

As here, the issue continues on DVDTalk with no response from IB whatsoever. Not sure why IB feels hijacks are acceptable. If they felt otherwise they would have fixed the issue by now.

We do not feel they are acceptable and are currently looking into ways of identifying the source of the browser and mobile hijacks. It's not an easy issue to deal with.
Hopefully, our efforts will greatly reduce the bad ads.

That's great to hear! Hope you are successful. I was about to stop using the forum until someone suggested a subscription would stop the harassment. Keep up the due diligence.

Really just requires someone at IB to decide to invest the resources in solving the problem.
You really arent looking for the guilty ads. Those are like fleas (or any other vermin). Kill em all, and get a new crop next week.
You really want to ID the bad ad networks. And fire them. I did this, but they didn't care because I was only small traffic source. IB is a huge traffic source, and firing bad networks, especially couple with a press release about poor quality control... IB has the leverage to make them care.

This is some helpful stuff. Thank you.
If you log what ads are served to what users on what pages, I'm pretty sure people here would be willing to tell you what thread / page they were on when it happened. You'd narrow it down pretty quick, and then some targeted QA/QC testing of the short listed likely offenders would nail it down.

I just got one on the subscriptions page on Safari/IOS. Looked like a google ad trying to redirect to the app store, fwiw.
If these really are google ads IB should contact someone at google directly and give them a chance to fix the problem before IB goes all public PR about it.
Google absolutely can fix the problem. If they care to.

Fire the ad network? Serving malicious content should be grounds to terminate any existing ad contract.
Also you could mention to IB that this corresponding thread at dvdtalk.com has been ignored for weeks as well as PMs regarding it.

Is your original image larger than this? If so, can you email it to me with your browser version/mobile platform?

Some audio for some "energy" drink started playing. There were no energy drink ads on the page, and no ads admitting they were playing audio. I had to stop my youtube stream to find the source of the intruding sound. Then it was like, of course, a BF rogue javascript ad.

Hello Folks,
I'm asking that more information is provided when submitting bad ads/mobile hijacks.
What we need is the following:
1. Screenshot (which you've all been posting, awesome)
2. The URL of where you're being redirected
3. Device/Operating System
4. Country you're in when you get the ad
5. Your IP address
This extra info will help us get to the bottom of this issue.
Thanks,
Tyson
