Do your bikes ever feel neglected?
I'm trying to get back into shape after a medical condition. So this evening I thought I'd take a little longer ride.
I have 4 vintage bikes and I'm trying to decide which one to take when the one I've owned the longest telepathically
tells me he's not been out in quite a while so I give in and we made hay while the sun shines going 18 miles. Dang
I'm out of shape.

I looked for years for the F Frame Moulton I desired, found it and then neglected it in an unheated shed. I pulled it out this week wo rebuild the shed and was horrified. It will be re-restored, and ridden because they are unique and wonderful.

I don't think any of my bikes are neglected. I rotate my bikes every ride. Each bike gets dusted at very least every 2 weeks.

I looked for a couple years for a Motobecane Grand Touring in a 23" frame, finally found a 1978 in 2013, it then sat unused for years, muttering to itself in French until I finally did a full spa treatment last year. I still don't ride it enough but its been loved.

My Ciocc is neglected... ever since the cage pivot spring broke at Eroica on Cypress mountain., and my Allez has been in pieces since I don't know when. Also my cheap ass cross bike is hanging on the wall, and has been since spring! I have big plans for the Ciocc for this next Eroica though (gearing that i can actually ride UPHILL with!)

I tend to prefer to ride the bike I rode most recently because I know it's in good condition to ride. There is a snowballing effect.

Hmmm ... the Allegro only has 3 miles on it this year, and I keep going back and forth on whether I will keep it. The Liberia has zero miles on it, and it, too, may be up for re-homing. The Diamond Back is boxed up waiting to be shipped whenever someone breaks down and buys it. The Mercian Colorado has only been ridden 4 miles since 2015, but I think it's still a keeper. The Puch would surely like more time on the road, and my old faithful Vincitore that was once the daily driver spends a lot of time pining on the rack - but that beat up Gitane is just so convenient to grab and ride when I'm in a hurry ...

Yeah, two of mine, my beloved Legnano hasn't been ridden since April Eroica. It rode fine and I had a great time on the ride. But on the way home from Eroica, another Legnano followed me home, and needed some love. Also, another Raleigh Super Course project needed finishing. Besides, I haven't gotten around to swapping the Campy pedals, toeclips and straps out for everyday SPDs on the Eroica Legnano.
My 2002 Allez has zero miles so far this year. The rear wheel bearings didn't feel right, and I never have messed with modern sealed bearings, so I need to figure those out.

Absolutely. I don’t have the opportunity to ride as much as I’d like, and summer in SC isn’t especially inviting for a long ride. I do most of my riding in the spring and fall.
But, I don’t have a large stable and I do try to rotate whatever bikes I’m not in the process of working on....so at least they’re neglected equally.

I don't ride any of my bikes with tires narrower than 700x25.
The roads in St. Paul were just rated poor-fair by our public works.
I think they stink and I'll likely go as wide as I can with tire choices.
It's really too bad, as my Tommasini is just begging for a fun ride.
