a big WTF on this one. i don't understand how someone can complain about that? is it a formal dress kind of atmosphere? i don't get why anyone would even care. i don't get why the complaint would even be accepted.

Team Kit time!!!!! Sounds like there are indeed at least two people at work (one busybody and one manager) with waaay too much time on their hands... a trip to HR is suggested.

envy manifests itself in strange ways. you'll have forgotten all about it once you're back on your bike, blasting past these automatons mired in the traffic jams they've created.

I should wear my team kit to work one day.

One day I left in shorts in a jersey, but I should seriously rock the kit at my desk one day and see what people do.

That is hideous. I'm sorry.

Is this gov? I almost wish you'd fight it just so I can imagine all the paperwork they'd have to do--all the interview summaries, investigation reports, and the "...in regards to your workplace attire on October 17, 2007"'s--all those ALL CAPS written statements and tortured 3rd person syntax--all about rolled cuffs.

Don't. Btw. Just leave.

i've shown up to work in lycra shorts and i came in wearing a jersey almost every day this summer.

typically i'll change into pants and a t shirt, but i spent many a day wearing cut off jeans to the office.

sounds like you need to make fun of your coworkers more often.

I pi55 on anybody who says things to me about my bike attire at work.

The usual suspects are the smokers who hang around the outside and watch me come in ....

wear a diaper full of shrimp, and a big gold belt. maybe? maybe not? I am not sure who would win. But the writeup would be the funniest thing ever seen.

What rule did you break? Because if they filed a formal complaint then they better reference where it is written policy that you can't do what you are doing.

It's time for you to pull out the Employee Handbook and fight fire with fire. Use their own rules against them. When it's in writing, they can't argue against it. Get creative! Make it a game! You'll be leaving anyway...

I've gotten harassed for having a rolled up pant leg before I get to the office. In the 'hood I commute through I think it means I'm either buying or selling drugs. Never have figured out which.

I work for state government. They said it was a dress code issue. I got so pissed I told my boss I had to go for a walk. I almost told her to **** off and I didn't need the job. I just sold my car yesterday, and so I really don't need this job, except to have a little money saved when I start school. So tempted to quit.

I listen to this at least once a week to cheer me up. In fact, I listened to it all day the first day I heard it. And that day I really needed it.

You should convince everyone you work with to roll up their pants. Start a roll your pants up critical mass. Man-pries for everyone! Make stickers that read "The revolution will not have full pants"

Damn that sucks. I usually roll in 5 minutes late and sit at my desk wearing whatever I rode in wearing (sometimes lycra!) for a half hour, sometimes longer, before going to change. On my way to change yesterday, one of the IT guys said "cute outfit" in reference to my brightly colored long sleeve jersey and tights yesterday. I just said "awwww, thanks sweetie" in my best Corky St. Clair voice. Last Friday I work knickers, spd shoes and a rad wool jersey all day. I looked so good everyone was staring. I'm wearing my new cap with the ensemble tomorrow.

Despite the fact that nobody seems to care what I wear, my boss can be kind of a dick about my riding to work in general. He makes these little comments like "maybe you should drive tomorrow" if I have a big project due or something. I feel like saying "how I get to work has **** all to do with how well my job gets done, asswipe". But I usually just mumble something like "I'll be here bright and early and I'll stay as long as I need to". If I didn't goof off so much I could be less of an ass kisser.
