IRO frame can ALMOST barspin but...
My Mark V's front wheel is literally a couple millimeters from being able to do a barspin without the tire hitting the down tube. I'm running a 28c tire so, I could try a smaller width, but my guess is that width doesn't necessarily mean a less "tall" tire. So um, other than getting a different fork or a 650 wheel...any ideas? Tires anybody knows of?

(God, I can't believe that I'm actually replying to such a topic.)
28c is tall. You can get tires as thin as 700x19c. Time Trial and Triathlon bikes use such tires. Try stores that cater to that crowd. But, I would try a common 23c first.
Edit: Bontrager makes a 700x23c clincher. I had one on my track (actually ridden on a velodrome) bike for a while.

I'd try a smaller tire, 23c or even 20c is quite a bit smaller then 28c, and I'm pretty sure that they have shorter sidewall heights too.

it is frustrating, I have the same like 2mm overlap on my cypress, and i've already got a 20c in front, I might try and track down an 18c and see if that would work

I've tried a 23c Vittoria Zaffiro on there and it was no better than with my 28, same height. I could try a 20 or 19c....you think that'd make any difference though, from a 23? I kind of doubt it

Just spin the bars, you know, really, really hard; hard enough so that the momentum will carry the the tire right past the down tube and the 2mm of overlap wont matter. Sure, you'll feel a slight bump but at least you'll be able to pull off some rad bar spinzzz...
Oh dear.

However, maybe it's more than "a couple millimeters" that you need to clear.

So you mean all this time I've been riding my bike when I should have been learning to do barspins? Damn it, all that wasted effort...

aka mattio
of course not. tires are meant to be somewhat round in cross section, after all. a wider tire is also a taller tire.
