however this one is of better quality but it's not the exact shade of blue I'd want. I'm starting to like the cream in this but the blue of Halfords is more eye catching.

I looked at the specs of both bikes, and they seem pretty close. I can't account for the substantial price difference. It's possible that the cheaper bike is made more cheaply, but I can't tell that from here.

If they truly are of the same quality, then decide based on the price or the color.

not really. it was just a quip based on what you showed was a high priority, a particular shade of blue paint.

on this particular subforum (c&v), we're much more interested in '70s and '80s mid-level steel road bikes for their performance and long-term value. if have a question about a vintage bike, please ask, and you'll receive plenty of quality (and free) feedback. good luck.

Hi and welcome too. The Pinnacle has an alloy frame so it would be a little lighter, meaning less effort needed to ride. It has possibly a narrower seat which would be better for a long ride - tho these bikes are more suited to rides of a shorter distance. It has a head stem which you can adjust for height if need be. It also has a basket! (doesn't have a rear pack rack). You will get years of enjoyment with either bike.

Different things are important to different people.

Some people don't like others to refer to their underwear. It's especially intrusive when it's a man referring to a woman's underwear. I realize you weren't the one to do that, but you defended him.

Gentlemen, as usual we have differences of opinion - no problem.

Sometimes sarcastic remarks aren't appreciated when someone is looking for a serious answer - no problem, either. He's got a right to. And no, he doesn't have to grow thicker skin. Sometimes we just have to accept the fact that not everybody appreciates sarcastic remarks.

There's nothing to argue about, so please don't manufacture arguments.

It still seems hard to accept that color is important to some people. Isn't it important to most of us?

I think if you're looking for more comfort the first is the better choice, if you want to go a little bit faster go for the latter. Also, I'm not sure how much of a deal 100 euros for you. Liking the white color more than the light blue anyway. Keep us updated!

Whatever you buy, make sure you like the color. Once I bought an expensive mountain bike, one that I wanted, but in a color I was tired of. I will even say that I got a fantastic deal. Then my friend bought the same bike in a color that I loved. Every time I rode for the next two years I would always think how I wished I had bought the other color. Since then, I have made sure to like the color of whatever I decide to buy.
