Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

27.5 or 700 Graveler

I have fallen in luv with the Masi Grimondo it comes in both a 27.5 with 2.1 tires or a 700c with 40"s......same set up both look cool and are very well priced at about $1k. Deore stuff. I never road a 27.5 big tired road/graveler but I am interested in the idea of a do it all bike.
Anyone have experience good or bad on the pro vs con of either. I loved the Cdale that has simliar set up people seemed to love the bike. I ride an old school 27 inch wheel steel beast and need to upgrade.
Thanks.

I agree the giramondo is great bike, have thought about it myself. I don't think you can go wrong with either 27.5 or 700c. I ride a rigid 29er and on rough gravel those 2+" tires can really smooth things out. The 700c looks like it'd clear 45mm tires (not quite 2") not sure about 650b, but certainly a little wider.

No experience with 650 wheels, but as far as I can tell, everything else is the same on both bikes...so you're one wheelset away from changing your mind if you want to to make a switch.
