Best saddle under $50 and why?
i have a windsor hour and the stock saddle makes me sore after about and hour of riding so im looking for a new saddle. Any reccomendations? im mainly looking for comfort but i also sort of want a white saddle to match my white bar tape. Also within a budget of $50.
these are the two im deciding between:
Nashbar Glide Saddle
selle san marco ponza saddle
does anyone have anything good or bad to say about these saddles?

i had a selle san marco.... broke it after two days. i fell and landed weird, one of the rails came out of the plastic casing thingy and there was NO way to get it back in. basically it was cheaply made and i wouldn't recommend it.

I have a ponza and it's okay, I really didn't like it at first, though it has become better with riding. Still it's kinda uncomfy if I don't get on it just right.

^ those soma ones look real nice. i especially like the brown, but at $52 compared to $40 for a white one its gonna be a tough decision. then again, i could just not eat chipotle for lunch just one day to make up the difference
now im leaning towards the soma's. Anyone else got anymore saddles??

hmmm. i guess im now leaning towards the brown soma saddle then haha. but then again the nashbar glide is only 20 bucks, about 36 shipped. while the brown soma would be about 61 shipped.

i actually have my friends kilo tt infront of me right now and its stock seat is more comfortable than the stock hour seat to me. but i've heard the ponza is a lot more comfortable than the stock hour seat, so its probably still better than the stock tt seat. i actually really like the look of the ponza, but i like the more classic look of the soma.

I got a WTB Rocket V for $20 that my bike shop pulled off a stock bike. It's been one of the most comfortable saddles I've tried yet, and I believe they retail under $50. Other saddles I've used that I like less include the Selle San Marco Regal, Brooks Team Pro, and Brooks B17. The only other one that came close was a beat up Selle Italia Flite that was on a friends bike that I borrowed for a couple days.
There is one thing I'm wary of on any saddle. I don't like stitching on the area where I'll be sitting. It causes friction, which can cause extra wear on pants or shorts that you (hopefully) have on. It appears that many of the cheaper WTB models have this one them, but mine doesn't.

Wait a sec! Tioga Spider will likely to cost you over 50. (and they brake under pressure at low temp, right?)
... How about Grunge Turbine saddles? They have two good things going. One, they look like Rolls. And two, they comes in all kinds of color. I think it would have been nicer if there was less cushion. Anyways, I am gonna get one when I brake my current one.

yea i have it on my road bike. and i do 50-100 miles on it at a time. its not very padded near the ends but it doesnt need to be since you wont really be putting all your weight on that part of that saddle for very long if your bike fit is good.

Get a real Arione, used if you must.
I know $100 is hard to pony up but saddles are worth every penny you spend. Don't bother with cheap knock-offs, get the real thing!
And, please, don't get white if you plan on wearing jeans.
