Raleigh-built 1970 3-speed - need new gum-wall tires (fatter?)
Recently got my wife a beautiful Royal Scot (black) and have a new Brooks seat on order to bring this bike to a looker. Wife also wants gum-wall tires. I personally think she'll enjoy the ride of this bike much more if I can find fatter tires than the 1-1/4" x 26" that I can find up to now.
Anyone know of a source to find wider 26" gum-walled tires?

I've not used it, but the Panaracer Col de la Vie is wider than most tires in this size, at least according to Harris: https://sheldonbrown.com/harris/tires/590.html

Should the tires not be 26 x 1 3/8 if you have a 3 speed with stock ISO 590s on it? I have a basic set of Kenda gumwalls on my green Sports and they are fine.

A little less pressure is probably safe and would give you what you wanted better than wider tires.
I poked around a little myself for wider tires for an EA3 rim. Unless something's changed in the past few years there's really nothing wider than 1-3/8 except for the minor variations between brands.
You may already know this but there are several different rim diameters called 26" so make sure you get 590s if that's what you originally had. Tires marked "26x1-1/4" won't fit the rim. The name denotes a different rim diameter.

For the cushiest ride, spring for the Col de la Vie's. If the bike is only going to be ridden occasionally the Kenda gumwalls are fine.
