Yeah, I haven't really got a clue on Schwinn, but figured I'd put it out there for those "in the know".

Oh, I'm not saying they're bad. They say that the Japanese Bianchis from the 80's are better than the Italian. I actually would prefer a nice Tange frame to a so-so Columbus or Reynolds.

I'm s'posed to pick this one up tomorrow. $75.00

Update: I picked it up this morning and, though the components are corroded (which I knew and didn't care about) the frame/paint is in remarkable condition. 3 or 4 little nicks and 1 top tube scratch! I'll match with some touch up paint and save the (UGH) Blueberry paint! The saddle had a cover on it and it is like new! Owner said that the bike probably has less than 1000miles on it. Great buy for $75.00 !!

I think Cannondale made up to a 66. That one looks close.

It looks even bigger than 66cm. I wonder if it's a custom build?

Looking at his avatar pic this looks like it will be perfect for him. I'm also a tall guy, not many tall frames/bikes show up on CL so to find one is always sweet! BTW, the brake cable routing at the stem/bar is pretty puzzling; rotated 360 and stuck though the main triangle??

Actually it is a 27" (68.5cm) frame. Cannondale spec'd their race frames in CM and their ST frames in inches. Go figure.
At any rate, they made the 27" ST bikes from '86 to '89, and offered it as a frameset only in '90, after which the size was (snif) discontinued.

As for me, I was 6'6" in my youth and much of my adulthood, but have shrunk to 6'4" in my autumn years (darn old gravity, anyway!)
The 27" frame fits me wonderfully, and I may put skinny tires on one to use for speed riding.

Yeah, very strange routing for sure! It has already been undone, so I can clean the frame.
That is another 27" ST in my avatar. That's Babe the Blue Ox, another recycled '88 ST400
Pics elsewhere in appropriate threads.

The Merckx is being sold by a bike shop so I am sure they would pack and ship for a fee, I should have mentioned that in my post. It is very tempting and it is my size but I have something fun coming my way soon and, of course, two Merckx' is enough.
