I don't know about the best cycling skill, but IMO, the most important one is the first one. Balance. After that everything else just falls into place.

Adjusting my seat post. I am really good at that. And buying lots of unnecessary gear. I shop like a pro or at least a CAT 2.

I'm sorry, but any cyclist worth a crap here in southern Maine gets their caffeine fix at Aroma Joes. Anything else is just brown water in a plastic cup.

Going forward while looking behind me and counting the number of ppl in bikes there.

Now before you think I'm an awesome rider and am out in front all the time... I'm a tour guide (on bikes!! best job in the world) so have to keep an eye on my guests. Sometimes I feel like a Mama duck with little ducklings behind me!

That, and staring down taxi drivers

I highly doubt you'll find anyone who wouldn't agree with you on that on Machka!

As for me, I'm a pretty decent climber, as good as a guy living in Dallas, Tx can be. I need to build my lungs and heart more for longer climbs though.

Oh, and riding bikes at least 1 to 2 sizes too big for me.

Read some of your postings and you need more practice at that bit

Yeah, I constantly remind myself that balance has it's limits. At least I have finally figured out where it is in the hiearchy of important skills to master.
