Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A blurry photo does not a fast rider make!

Oh yeah, you're on the hoods, the inside pedal is down, you forgot to signal and you're not wearing a helmet.

I would, but
a) I have no photos of me on the bike, and
b) I've never been over 30mph (I ride a pretty flat area).

Here's my ear at about 21 MPH while I use two hands to take a picture during the Sea Gull Century:

Could've been faster, since it looks like we're going downhill.

Just so everyone knows the biggest hill on the Seagull Century route is the overpass of the highway and the bridges to Assateague. That's neither...

Yeah, I know... but I HATE traffic. Sort of the same reason that most all of my motorcycle riding is on the track now- too many idiots on the road. I can get a decent workout on the Comet and, I think, enjoy the ride more. It just takes more miles to get the workout.

ETA: Do I get kicked out of the road forum now?

ETA2: I'm up for something new, though. Suggest a route and I'll do it as soon as my back is behaving again.

C'mon. I have a max power output of maybe 150 watts* (the hamer I'm droping is one of those little plastic toy doctors' mallets), and I can hit 32 mph in a sprint on a dead-level road. You just gotta work a little harder!

*Disclaimer: maximum power is somewhat greater than 150 watts.
