I keep a U-lock on the rack I lock up to most frequently on campus. In addition to that, I keep a cable wound around my toptube and use that to lock up anywhere else I go (since I'm usually not going to be there very long). I also have a chain somewhere, but I've lost it.

I carry a u-lock in my messenger bag if I am going to a place that won't allow me to take my folding bike inside. I also sometimes shove the lock through the bag's cross-strap, across my chest. Slightly more convenient if I've got a bunch of stops to make, but I've never really found keeping the lock in my bag inconvenient.

U-lock in the frame-mounted holder. I don't use the water bottle cages anyway, so there's no conflict.

I keep in on the rack I lock up at. I also carry a super wimpy cable lock with me in my bag or on the bars.

My panniers hang on the side of the rack, and I strap my U-lock to the top of the rack with a thick rubber bungie from Home Depot.

This gets asked so frequently I know the URL for Sheldon Brown's Lock Strategy by heart now. Cable lock stays in my pannier. One good U-lock stays on the rack at work and one not-so-good U-lock stays on a rack at a secondary work site.

I just leave it on the bike rack. It's a private rack for employees, and so far no one said anything. So I figured it's not a big problem.

I keep a chain lock stuffed in a koozie in the bottle cage. My commute is less than 3 miles to train station so I don't need water

I wrap the chain around the seatpost, then the U-lock around that. Alternatively, I wear the chain around my waist and put the U-lock in my back pocket.

I loop the hasp of the lock around one of the rails of my saddle and then put the loops of the cable on the hasp and then lock the lock.

One bike has a frame lock; the other, a D-ring to carry the cable and padlock.

Ditto on this method when I'm riding solo, but when the wife and I are out riding, I bring the Big Bertha cable lock along for easy locking of our two bikes.

In my messenger bag or in my back pocket. I love the kryptonite mini u-lock. Small enough to fit in your back pocket, yet big enough to lock your bike

I have a closet at work, so I often don't carry a lock. Sometimes I stick a cable lock in my pannier in case I want to stop somewhere, but I don't like to do that on my commuter. There's too much stuff on it (lights, Brooks saddle, computer, pump, tool bag, etc.) to leave it out places too often. And taking the stuff off is a pain.

I have a link chain and padlock I keep in my trunk bag. It's been a long time since I have used it. (I keep my bike in the warehouse). I have used it at the Y and market, but both those places are pretty safe.

I get to park in the underground parking garage so I leave it attached to the bike rack. When I do carry it's either on my hip or in my bag. I never attach it to my bike. *hates rattles*
