haha, the FishBacon race, he starts on a fixed with no brakes and is all of a sudden coasting on a freewheel (also with no brakes?) then in the next scene cut he is on a double brake freewheel. I guess the average person would not notice?

Too bad the plot kinda sucks. First half of the movie is awesome. Second half not so much.

So head of its time. Scene could be just as real in 2009. Stock trader turned messenger, minimalist, living in a loft in NY, and nice track bike.

I love fixed 'balet'/dance/montages. Good movie over all for the sake of being able to spot things normal viewers wouldn't notice.

BMX riders did the trick scene. Martin Aparijo was one of them (my favorite rider back in the 80's).

In the beginning of the movie, the bike messenger who loses his beret is Nelson Vails.

Nelson Vails was a NYC Bike Messenger who won a Silver Medal in the '84 Summer Olympics in the 1000m Sprint (Scratch).

I haven't watched it in ages, isn't it suppose to be a made up setting? Did they ever reference NYC or SF in the movie?

My gf just got me a sealed copy on dvd for $3 at Big Lots last week.
I've had the song from the trick section in the alley stuck in my head for 3 days.

I actually watched it just now at the link I posted and man... that was an awesomely bad movie. Gotta love that ballet scene though hahaha.

I do wish the second half had more biking :-/ and the switches between fixed/SS definitely made it really confusing.

It is kind of a buzkill how the three main characters wind up abandoning their bike's for other careers.
