Fazua gearbox issues

Just bought a Cube C62 E bike and within 14 miles the gear box has started to seize up. Has anyone else experienced issues with the Fazua 1.0 electric drive system?

What sort of symptoms are you experiencing? Is there any difference in how the BB gear box feels when you remove the drivepack?

Hi Moe,
I have removed the battery and motor pack and when turning the crank in either direction there is what I can only describe as juddering stiff resistance. There is no noise generated when doing this and when first discovered after my 14 mile shake-down ride, the resistance was noticed as I pushed the bike backwards. Any ideas? I know its all covered by my warranty but I do not want to replace the unit if there is a known issue out there.

There have been other (same?) issues described which seemed to be related to plastic parts in the drive mechanism. Try the search function and you should be able to access them.

If you've removed the drive pack, the problem may be in the bottom bracket unit as you are thinking; however there is some possibility that it is the chain or rear cogs. I'd maneuver the chain off the front chain ring and try turning the cranks again. If you still get the resistance then that's pretty much validation of a faulty unit. With only 14 miles on it, you really need to take it back to the dealer for them to check out.
