dakine bike bag

anyone ever use this? i saw it on craigslist for $200 brand new with tags. did a search on it and it retails for $350-400. i'm going to be moving soon and want to bring my bike along with me on the plane. was wondering if anyone would recommend this or something else. i love dakine for other stuff, but had no idea that they made bike bags. thanks in advance!

oh ya, i'll be using it for my fixed

Bring a spoke wrench, you'll need it after the bag handlers romp your wheels.

If you're moving for good, shipping it to yourself is cheaper. I don't fly enough to know airlines' insurance policies for luggage, but I'd rather deal with a parcel delivery company than with an airline about my valuables being f****d up. Having it "on the plane" most certainly means it will be out of your sight/care.

Looks like you could ship it yourself for less than $70. Check out old threads: one, two, three and four.

I can see how that bag might be useful if you want your bike with you straight from the airport to ride. Cheaper would be shipping it probably. Except you could keep the tags on the bag and re-sell it when you are done with it. So maybe that's better after all.

I suppose if you're traveling often with your bike, this bag could be a solid investment. It seems it would protect your bike quite well against negligent baggage handlers, but I'm now curious too: Who has used one?

I found this review and this one.
