I'm not sure I know what an SR is exactly either, but I have one... a Semi-Pro. It came not from a yard sale/whatnot, but from the bike store new in '79, and I've heard they were made in Mexico or Japan or San Diego.
A bit of a unique bike, but it rides great.

Here in Spokane Craigslist is the best. You can find with patience anything... I got a paramount 1.86kg all original except for seat for 80 bucks.

This is how I Find Vintage Bicycles and I have found thousands. Though it might seem like bragging, I am pretty sure that I can go find a vintage bicycle any day of the week. Anyway, my ways for finding them works super duper well for me. Of course, most of my methods mean getting away from the computer. It is most productive to hunt where the bicycles actually are. By the time they do manage to find themselves offered on-line, you have probably missed a chance to make a great buy.
I no longer seek bikes actively but they continue to come my way, this Team Proctor being the most recent find and I found it at the dump...
