the weather here was a bit of a deterent as I only had about 300 trick and treaters this year, usually get between 350 and 400, My neighbourhood is like the one next to BengeBoy's,plus we have an elementary school with 200 plus little lovelies attending it and of course people drive in from other areas so their kids can get in on the haul.

We probably had about 150 or more. Went through three full large bags of candy.

One of my neighbours had a Party for the Kids-Seemed to be hundreds of them in their garden.

Temp of 34DegF- bit of rain in the air and 10mph wind from the North. As it was a Halloween party in the Garden-I walked to my daughters. Plenty of groups of kids calling all night and then we saw the Nightmare arriving down the road.

The Party from over the road descended on my daughter. 30 kids in one hit- and they were all neighbours. The kids were OK- it was the Adults supervising them that demanded- Trick or BEER. Weren't ready for that so it was glasses of Wine or a tot of scotch and We just about kept them happy.

We used lollipops as treats and started with 200 of them. Only 20 left at the end of the night so lots of hyperactive kids on the streets last night.

Sorry no pics of this year but one of them made me a cake last year and asked me if I still had any of it left--No Chance.

I was surprised - we only had about a dozen, all before 7:00; normally it's at least 100 to 150 going right up to, or even a little past, 8:00. Oh, well, my daughter's got a marching band competition today; once they've performed, I'll just set the bowl out - I'm sure I won't bring any home from that!

Though there are very few children in our neighborhood, we generally get
from 100 to 150 trick or treaters. They get driven to our area from the
"War Zone" aka "The Crescent" more commonly refered to as the inner city.
Not a familiar face all night long hence, we go out on Halloween. I can understand
why their parents take them to neighborhoods other than their own, but my goodness
there is carload after carload after carload of these strangers wandering the
neighborhood.

I took my bride out to dinner to celebrate her birthday (which was on Oct. 28th) and
then we did a little shopping, as I had worked the night shift on her Birthday.

We passed out candy for 30 years, now we're Halloween Scrooges.

Zero. But that might be because this was the first year we didn't have lights on. Last year I think we had four the whole night. The neighbors on each side do not turn their lights on, the houses across the street have very long driveways and usually get bypassed, two other neighbors were on vacation, so our area usually gets passed by. And many of the families go to parties, or organized events and don't even go trick-or-treating around the neighborhoods now. Glad I grew up when it was still fun, and the streets were filled with kids trick-or-treating!

We ended the night with zero trick or treaters. I heard a rumor that there's a really grouchy old man who lives near by. Maybe that's it. I wonder which one of my neighbors that could be?

We had about 20. Most were small and had mom/dad/grandparent help them up the driveway (we live on a small hill and walking up our driveway gives our neighbors a good cardio workout when they come to visit ). I saw a few more coming down the street but we were out of treats so turned out the porch lights and went into the back of the house.

We had somewhere between 100 and 130. The wife wasn't home so I had to pass out the candy. She usually marks the numbers down on a piece of paper so we know almost exactly.

We used to get over 200, but like me, the neighborhood is getting older and there are not as many young families in the area.

Wound up with 19. Wife turned off light at 0830, but like last year some teenagers knocked on door at 9pm. This year it was a couple of girls dressed like Britney Spears. Not sure if it was a costume, their normal cloths, or if they were hookers.

I'm guessing you had quite a few taller than usual ones with muscular legs, farmer tans, and one with a white mustache.

We had hundreds of trick or treaters. Halloween is a big deal on Capitol Hill, DC. People bring their kids from miles away. They all work their way down the side streets to East Capitol. On East Capitol the number of trick or treaters must total in the many thousands. The houses are decked out with lights, sounds and ghouls. We had several guests for an early dinner and then walked around to catch the evening sights -- quite a treat. I grabbed a cell phone photo of the house with a McCain devil and an Obama angel on the lawn. The image isn't very clear but it may give you an impression of the crowds:

We had nice weather and about 35 trick or treaters. Last year we had about 50+, so I am guessing the kids are starting to age out. There's no question some are from other neighborhoods too. We handed out some glowy rings (bracelet- or necklace-sized) with the candy and that is always a big hit with kids and parents. We used to have a Halloween village on the dining room table too, but haven't had time to put it all together the last two years. Maybe next year.

180 or so on a beautiful evening. Most were with parents. Every year we say we really should do better for the kids than just handing out candy and quick conversations.

Either half as many or twice as many as the last couple years. But the total remains the same: Zero.
Could it be because we hand out innertubes that need to be patched?

There must be some sort of secret "Trick or Treat" listserv in your area, and somehow you have made the "bad" - or is it "good?" list.
