I'm getting used to the new comp and thought that I had made 50 all day with my 6m, I was wrong and too tired to go on for another 13 by going back to the shop and home again.

I rode to Inverness yesterday on the trail, 32.5 miles total. This was the longest ride I have done since having surgery almost two months ago. I have wanted to ride the length of the trail (46 miles) for the last couple of years and haven't been able to get the timing right. I may try to do it this fall again, maybe during the Rails to Trails Ride in October. That way I'll have SAG support during the ride. My wife will have to pick me up at the southern end, as I doubt I will be ready to go round trip as I have never ridden over 40 miles before. Frankly, I don't think my butt can handle that much time in the saddle!
No riding today or tomorrow as I have to take our vintage doggy to the vet for some minor surgery. Hopefully I'll be able to ride on Wednesday again.

Rode 40 miles today at a 21mph pace with sprints every 10 miles hitting between 30-34mph. Jell-o legs very much so.
Now sitting in economics getting ready for 6 tests between today and next wednesday

83 rpms (67% of time in 80-120 zone)
I got out late and there was no one at the shop (as in I didn't miss them, they weren't coming), so instead of going home to waste time, I went out by myself. Totals include 13ish round trip commute.
Just narrowed cadence zone to 85-105.

Did my usual 12 mile ride late this morning. 9 miles in to it the rain started. It quickly turned in to a downpour and a very active thunderstorm. I waited it out in a shopping center. After about 45 minutes I thought it was letting up so I started the last 3 miles. I was wrong. Ended up soaking wet (at least the lightning had moved off). Bleah! I hate riding in the rain.

Yes I did ride today and got caught in a real gully-washer coming home from Stone Mountain.
Tried waiting it out under a huge tree but after ~10 minutes the rain was so hard it was pouring down through the leaves. There was no other shelter within a mile so decided I wouldn't get any wetter if I just rode home in it.
The bike needed a good bath anyway.

Did 34.6 @ 16.6 in a group ride (out and back). Ride out was almost agonizingly slow. Ride back was more like it; probably averaged 19 in the last 1/3 of the ride after a couple of us pulled away. Was nice to have temps in low 80s or cooler too.

this morning I did a club organized memorial ride for someone who was killed 7 yrs ago.
I rode about 7 miles to the start, but lost my time et al.
recorded time etc
02.59.34 total time
49.29 total dist
16.4 ave mph
26.4 max mph
70 ave rpm (unrecorded dif comp)
I rode fixed (53x17) the whole way, We did 11 miles @ 13-14, taking the lane to the marker.
A short ceremony in memorium and then off we went.
I rode off with the usual shop guys and was fine at 18, 20 and 22, hung in at 24, dropped at 26.
After that I tried to stay at 20 while not dropping below 19, and definantly not below 18. Occasionally down to 17 and a heart breaking 16-14.

Rode yesterday for the first time since last Sunday, too much rain and other things kept getting in the way. I did 16.5 miles on a beautiful cool morning. Today was absolutely glorious, sunny, cool and little wind. Managed 22.4 miles. Hopefully the weather will stay like this for a few days!
