Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The calfee ones are sick but way above my pay grade. The richie ones look doable.
Nothing wrong with a breakaway as your main road bike. You probably would need to check the couplers are tight periodically.

I always wanted a red white and blue Ritchey breakaway. Totally different setup than couplers.

I have a coupled bike, with a hard case. It goes along on all trips which require air travel.
Mine is an 84 Schwinn Letour Luxe. It could easily be my daily ride, except that I've since gone to a larger frame.

I’ll have to see if it can hook on to my luggage. That would be the only problem I can see as far as my job would be concerned. If it’s in a hard case I can gate check it, and on larger aircraft it would fit in the over head.

A Richey Breakaway is prolly the only steel bike I'd buy. Well, realistically - I'd sell a kidney for a Baum.

they were offering it in carbon, but my thought would be to go steel, extra protection from the unknowns.0

My visit to the osteopath was a big success . I am pain free for the first time in weeks, and will celebrate such with a real ride tomorrow. While I was in the city with the car, and nothing else to do, I went searching for spokes. I found a place that cuts them custom for a dollar apiece. Seems reasonable. In the meantime, though, I realized I have 27" rims around, which would prolly fit those long spokes I have. AND, I have some bikes that came with 27". My problem is simply not enough wheels so each bike can have two all the time. You all are well aware of what a stickler I am for bling.

Short term pain for long term gain.

I hope the twingling gets better.

typically it’s four days on 2 days off. Had a medical issue come up earlier this year that has prevented me from being able to fly. I’m good to go now just waiting for the paper work. I fly into knoxville and chattanooga quite a bit.
