The GS components were fine stuff, definitely not as well finished as the record but gave you most of the functionality at a lower price point. The GS hub cones were not as hard as the record cones though. That said, I have 2 sets of wheels with gran sport hubs and they are going strong.

I have the G.S. Group on my Raleigh Competition GS. It all seems to work well. It is definitely not the quality of the NR/SR group . This is very apparent on the rear derailleur. The pulley wheel cage is stamped steel on the GS and the beefier NR is machined Aluminum. I had the RD fail once on my Raleigh. I switched it out for NR and what a difference in shifting .
