Getting started

My family wants to get started riding bikes together. I know there are many different types of bikes, but what would be recommended for recreational riding? We would ride on mostly streets and sidewalks, maybe dirt trails once in awhile. Would a road bike be best? Hybrid? Mountain bike?

Bikes: To many to list. I like them all!

I would personally choose a hybrid because they are a little more comfortable for me but a mountain bike would work just as well. Ride them both and get the one that feels the best to you for the money you want to spend.

By all means don’t get a department store bike. They are a waste of money. Find a good local bike shop to buy from.
