Bianchi Columbus Tretubi - help in identifying frame please

Hi Guys,

I am trying to identify the exact specs of my frame. I have browsed through nearly 1% of the internet to search find the answers. I will my bike photos and what I have so far. Also, could you help me with appraising the frame's value?

What I know so far?
  • I did identify the sticker on the seattube saying that it is a Columbus Tretubi Tubi Speciali Rinforzati (even though it is barely readable)
  • It is red - most frames in the catalog scans have different colours - it might have been repainted by a previous owner
  • It has one Bianchi logo on the seattube - most frames in catalog scans also have another on the down tube
  • It has a shortened Bianchi logo "B" next to the seatpost binder
I could not find it in old catalog scans, which I found here:

81, 83, 84, 85, 88 - on bulgier
87 - on velobase

Pictures of the actual bike:
[ Edit: I am sorry, I cannot add links yet, so I will return with my questions once I have 10 posts]

Apart from that - it is a great ride!

Thank you for reading my long post
And I will appreciate any help with finding out the exact model and appraising it's value.
Cheers!

Welcome to the forums. The fact that it has been entirely rebuilt complicates matters. However, the Columbus decal is the pre-1988 style and the fact that it is not one of the celeste coloured Bianchi by Columbus or Bianchi Speciale decals, should make it pre-1985. There is no sign of the serial number on the seat lug, so that should place it circa 1984. The total lack of chrome, tretubi construction and Ferrari Red paint immediately had me leaning towards a 1984 Nuovo Racing but they typically had dropout eyelets. Once we have the serial number and narrow down the year, it should be easier to determine the model. Pic assist...
