Talked a friend into trying a tadpole. =)
A friend of mine that just moved here is trying to get back into shape, and he said after he drops another 50 lbs or so, he might be interested in looking at bents, specifically trikes. I offered to drive him to the nearest LBS that carries bents and trikes (Angle Lake Cycles), which is a bit over an hour from here.
He hates bicycling, but thinks he might be ok on a bent, especially if crashing (by falling over) isn't a concern.
I'll have to call Angle lake and see if they carry used bikes, since I'm pretty sure he won't want to spend the money for a new one.

I personally would steer him to a tadpole trike. Last summer I had a chance to ride a delta trike. I thot it was very unstable and dangerous. In fact another guy took the same delta for a test ride and dumped it over resulting a huge road rash on his leg.
Then last fall I test rode a Terratrike tadpole, and ended up buying it. Much more stable. My wife also enjoys riding it too.

Mrs. Grouch and I are looking forward to the Midwest Recumbent Rally partially so that we can explore linked deltas. She has a Greenspeed tadpole that she LOVES but it's too hard to sit down on and get up from for me. I'm really excited about having the opportunity to see what's available.

I prefer not to run down any brand. The guy that crashed and burned was on one of the lower deltas tho. How ever I cant believe any delta with a higher CG can possibly corner better than a tadpole. This would be especially true with a down hill off camber turn.
