Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

About 45. It was the average speed for the section of the ride where I was going about 45 mph.

55 as indicated by the Sheriff on the side of the road who was shooting radar. That was before compact cranks, don't think I could do it on that road anymore, too old and with a compact, nope don't think so...

85 km/h descending on Whiteface Mountain. The rough road made it pretty scary. After I hit 85 I slowed down to around 70.

Today my Garmin said I averaged 270mph for 3.48 miles, but I'm not sure I trust that information.
If GPS said it then it must be true. Don't argue with technology.

That's a solid sprint.

When the Garmin locked up, it showed my speed was 9987mph.

I'm a strong rider, but I question the reading of over Mach 13.

My Garmin Edge 500 said 63.5MPH, I was skeptical at first but my buddy ridding by me got the same speed from his Polar GPS computer.
It sure felt like I was going over 50MPH cause I go 45+ going downhill pretty often.
