An Old Fart (PrimalWear) cycling jersey from the wife, replacement phototech lens for my Tifosi riding glasses from my son, an Italia cycling jersey from my friend Frank and a pair of Giro de Italia cycling gloves by Santini (handmade in Italy) from my friend Lou. I got myself a new Kask helmet. And since I can't start a ride (or a day) without coffee, the wife and I got ourselves a new Cuisinart K-cup brewer to replace the Keurig that no longer works. All in all, not a bad year for cycling gifts.

Not much bicycle stuff comes my way from the family, not a problem, though. My niece-in-law gave me a nice Avenir multi-tool, the model with the hardwood side panels and my son gave me the newest edition (3rd) of the "Big Blue Book", from Park Tool. (Anyone need a 2nd edition? Shoot me a PM if you legitimately need it.) Great Christmas all round, here!

Not bike-related? Huh, I guess you've never had the pleasure of a coffeeshop bike ride with friends.
I like those seasonal coffee beverages and enjoyed my first-ever peppermint mocha yesterday. Eggnog lattes are awesome too.
I also enjoyed having a couple of non-bicycle friends ("civilians") over to my house on Dec 25 to enjoy a veritable feast, conversation, and a few dvd's.
I made cranberry nutbread for a family I know through my bike club.
Who could ask for more?

After saying "no gifts" my wife surprised me with $500 towards a bike..."and only a bike." I have a tendency to not spend on myself. And after two days of serious shopping here it is: a 2015 Charge Plug 4 all steel, semi-touring. Since my two other bikes have a short wheelbase, I wanted something longer. I love the flexi-steel of my '84 Nishiki International, but I wanted something slightly stiffer. A Surly LHT wasn't in the budget, but this was on sale for about a third of the Surly. I've got to outfit it now with the usual lights, airzound, bell, toeclips and bags, plus I'm gonna run a rack and fenders. It's got some funky dot-matrix tread, but I really prefer road tires, so that's in the offing. Then based on my return to riding in colder weather this winter (down to 12°F vs 23°F for the last decade) and reading how bf member tsl does it (you da MAN!) I may get some studded tires for my Nishiki Blazer commuter and return to snow and ice as I did in my 30s.

My wife gave me Shimano PD-M324 mtb pedals and Bar Mitts. My sister gave me cycling socks and a gift card to the LBS. Mom got me a Jandd underseat bag for the mtb, and my daughter gave me an Einstein on a Bike poster. Very cool Christmas.

This was my 1st Christmas back into biking and my family really came through. Pearl Izumi thermal tights & jacket, cold weather gloves, a brighter light set, the Incredibell bar end bell (perfect cause I had lost a bar end cap). Though not requested, I got my wife and daughters bikes hoping to do more family biking this year. Since joining BF I've really come to appreciate vintage road bikes, and found some "projects" off Craigslist that I hope will be ready by early spring.

I got a couple of cool bike related t-shirts, a book of classic dirt road cycling photos and a nice calendar of old bike posters. But the best of all was this form in an email from the guy who will soon be building the custom frame for my next bike.


This I got for myself to go on that bike.

Not from Santa, but my son gave me an USAF cycling jersey! I can't wait until I have the opportunity to wear it! My Santa Baby gave me the MacBook Air I am posting on right now. Like Ron, it replaces the MacBook I finally wore out after seven years of constant use.

Got a pair of socks with bicycles on them. Bought myself a Selle Anatomica saddle that was on sale for Christmas. Also got a 2 month rental in Florida where I can actually ride my bike this winter.......

Santa knows that pretty much anything bike related will be a hit with me. As if I needed to be challenged to ride more hills ... I received this book. Sadly, the hills that I've ridden don't even rate compared to most of the ones in this book.
