Seat recovering- Best adhesive to bond leather to plastic seat?
I'm recovering a seat with some newer leather. The adhesive I used was water resistant, but the second it got wet, it lost it's tack. Now I have the "opportunity" to try again. What say ye? What should I get?

Don't know about your application but this stuff glues just about anything.

Edit: Scuff up the plastic with medium sandpaper for better adhesion.

I have used Goop on a couple of saddles the resecure the outer and inner edge of the saddles. Use plenty of it, clamp it and let it set, then you can trim the excess of it you wish to. A couple years later and it is still holding, with one of them getting wet numerous times. Inexpensive and works great on a lot of materials.

I was gonna suggest contact cement (Duco(R) for example). But the gorilla snot sounds interesting.
A minor thread hijack:
I have a Garmin HR monitor chest strap. The rubber is delaminating. I know, I should just buy a new one, but I'm interested in this glue. Do the folks that have used it think it would work ok for the rubber to rubber bond in the chest strap?

Earlier this year, I recovered two saddles with new leather. I used DAP Weldwood contact cement. Worked great.

I have been using 3 M spray 90 for years laminating cabinets. I just reglued a saddle the other day. Sprayed the 3M 90 into a piece of aluminum foil then used a q tip to spread it. This is a pretty strong adhesive but when there are multiple layers of foam and cloth and vinyl I think something that sets like an epoxy and forms a hard durable shell might sometimes be the only way .
Perhaps reframe the question. What is the strongest adhesive made and available. Does anyone know where to buy the short staples the saddle makers use?
