Hot r Not
Is there a Mountain Biking subforum equivalent of the Road Biking Hot r Not thread?
If not, is anyone opposed to starting one?
EDIT: ok, looks like there isn't one already so let's start.
General guidelines (don't need to be followed if you don't like it)
1. Most importantly, take a pic of your bike in a way that you like the most or looks best to you.
2. Take pic of the drive side if possible.
3. Drive side crank arm should be in line with the seat tube. (To me, this looks most natural)
4. I think accessories are prohibited in the Road Bike HrN thread but if you think it makes your bike look better or completes the look, keep them on in the photo.
If you guys have any other guidelines you would like to add, I can add them here later.
Here goes my bike. It's my dad's old bike so I haven't had much say in the styling so far. I was looking for some inspirations from other people's hot bikes.
Sorry for the poor lighting. Will take a better pic next time.

I didn't know what you were talking about so I just went over to see what that thread was...
Kinda makes me never want to go over there again.
There's the Post Your Rigs 3.0 thread, which is pretty cool. Plus, we don't have to be pretentious turds!
Why's the front brake cable got the extra twisty thingy in it?

The bike came with a pick-up for a wired computer, and I happened to have an old computer of the same brand sitting around (the pickup had failed.) 1+1+excellent for me.
I had heard one could earn "Hot" points by hiding the valves behind the forks/seatstays.
As fro no saddlebags .... i keep the beast ready to go. As soon as i get some free time (Looks like Wednesday morning) I am throwing it on my car and hitting a trailhead for some fun before work or whatever. I will sacrifice some "Hot" votes to be sure I don't forget my mini-pump, tube, and tire irons. "Hot" votes don't help when I am pushing it back to the car over several miles of muddy hills.

But knowing it seem to be satire of sorts makes me feel a little better about it, so thanks for the enlightenment.

Yeah, road guys get a bit crazy at times...I'd imagine the mtb HrN thread would be a bit more laid back.
I'll have to get a photo of mine now that I've made some changes to it. It's still a pretty basic setup however, nothing too fancy.

keep in mind theres a regular flavor HrN thread, and a "new and improved" version which is a super critical snobfest
it just occurred to me i havent done a proper shoot of my newest addition, and that i have more mtbs than street bikes now. awesome.
heres my old bike which i still havent sold yet
heres my commuter/townie thing
heres my latest bike on the day i got it, ive changed stuff but have been too busy riding it to take photos

I like the first and the third best ... I like the outdioor photos, too.
My pedals are Performance Bike Forte flats ... I don't have a shoes/cleats setup at the moment and the Fortes are very thin so I hope they will get hit a bit less often.

Moderator: Consolidate this thread into Post Your Rigs, where we already have this ad infinitum but without a stupid borrowed-from-road-forum title.
kkapdolee - - did you check the Sticky Thread Table of Contents sticky thread before assuming there wasn't one and starting this useless thread?

This isn't the road forum. If people want road forum-like threads with "rules," go to the road forum.
Duplicate threads = useless =

Merging at this point would be messy, so howzabout just adding to the existing thread?
