Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was equally skeptical. It’s very good, my wife has made it, better than it sounds.

Just got back from a gloomy, damp, windy ride. Only got yelled at once: “Get your ass on the path!”

Still beats riding the couch.

There was a brewery that I used to go to that had Chocolate Donut Stout. Surprisingly good - it really tasted like chocolate donuts. But you had to like stout to appreciate it, and I don't think they ever sold enough.

Up the street we have Iron Hill - these days they have a take-out special with two personal pizzas and a growler full of beer. I am trying to avoid drinking too much beer - unlike some people here, I am not trying to gain weight.

There is an Iron Hill in West Chester, they are the title sponsor for our bike club. Their food is decent. I am not a beer snob but from what I can tell their beer is ok too.

Okay, Heathpack - tonight is going to be a Goldrush night. Simple and, I hope, delicious.

2 oz. bourbon
¾ oz. honey syrup (recipe below)
¾ oz. fresh lemon juice

It's great if they work but sucks if they don't. Loosen the front of the shoe, try thin socks or no socks. I can't ride in thick socks. They ball up under my toes.
Are you fighting cleat placement perhaps? The key is figuring out what the cause is, then figure out the cure.

I'll buckle and try that some time - looks good.

In looking up Phish Food, I see that they also make Americone Dream, which might be an acceptable substitute for Edy's Coney Island Waffle Cone, which was a favorite that I haven't seen in forever.

Updates:

1. I was mistaken in my belief that I was on the cusp of 10,0000 miles on the TT bike. Disregard.
2. No bike for me this morning but the hounds got on the trail of a cottontail. Hijinks ensued.
3. The pulled pork was not ready until close to 9pm last night. That was 14 hours in the smoker. We had enchiladas for dinner.
