On my recent ride from Italy to France and Switzerland, I was riding up a deserted road in the Appinines and saw silhouettes of leaves on the recently painted white line. I stopped to get a photo (and take a short rest). It is unlikely that anyone other than a bike rider would even see this, let alone stop for a photo. It is a pretty plain photo by my standards but one I very much like, nonetheless.

I'm wondering if you have any photos that show things that only someone riding a bike on tour would see and stop and photograph?

Well it is true that riding a bike you notice a lot of things that otherwise would go unnoticed. You feel every bump in the road and every grade. Now where the painted over leaves were... That brings the "what is noticed" bar up to another level. Thanks for posting!

I, too, am curious what others have seen/photographed. I don't have anything to offer, yet.

and to continue the theme, this small village is named "Chargé" , which in French generally means "loaded", so I had to take a photo.

Wasn't my axe. I saw that trailer outside of Sisters Cafe in Confluence.

The following night there were several beheadings in nearby campsites but I rather doubt there was any connection .

Cool photo. Is that a sky cow? They fly and remind me of a helicopter. In Taiwan we have something similar that eats farmers veg.

Doug, that photo really makes me think of childhood memories, of being in a canoe way out on a lake and dragonflies that would sometimes take a break on the bow in front of me, or even on my paddle--I guess when crossing the lake or when they got blown way out over the water--or they were simply curious.
Ive had them land on my lots of times as a kid, and wouldnt mind me looking at them close up, always fascinated by them.

boy thats a lot of stuff, guess its the bikepacking thing, but I have to ask--is that black thing on the right a magic marker? also looks likes a quill stem, also makes me think of steering dampers from motorcycles.

I'm serious, can't figure it out and am curious. Sure as heck wouldnt want to catch my leg or crotch on it if it is rigid.

Yes, it's the mount for my 360 degree camera. It doesn't usually lay quite like that, but the camera was in its waterproof case, and the stick kept getting used to hang stuff on.
