New Bike

I bought 2 bikes from the LBS a few weeks ago. One for the wife and I. I haven't had an MTB in about 10+ years so I kind of went in with my old school knowledge. I wasn't familiar with thru axles - boost - Disc brakes - etc. So I bought the Felt Dispatch 9/60. I test rode it and really liked it. I got the bikes for riding around our town. I have no desire to go full on MTB'ing, maybe the occasional dirt / gravel path.

Since neither bike has thru axles I saw this wheelset on CL (Vuelta 29" Team XRP Team Superlite). Got the set for $110 - they are like new. Previous owner said they had 1 or 2 rides on them and they sure look like it. I had to buy new disc's front and rear - about $55 at my LBS since my bike's stock wheelset used a totally different setup. The swap was straight forward (although I put both tires on rotating backwards... DOH! - had to flip them both.) Here is a few pics where it's at now. I have about 80 miles on it so far and I really enjoy it.

congrats looks great
What was wrong with the stock wheels?
Also you must be incredibly strong looking at the tight cassette of gears in the back. Have many teeth are in the largest cog? was the cassette from the stock wheel set?

The stock wheels were ok but were heavy no name price point wheels that I just didn't care for. I like higher end wheelsets and seeing these at the price I paid was worth it to me. They ride and roll great. Our bikes are QR not thru axle so were limited to QR wheelsets.

The rear cassette is a Dura Ace 11-28 which is a "road bike cassette". We do not plan on doing any heavy MTBing (mostly road - light trail - bike path with my wife), so the stock stamped steel cassette gear range was not as useful to us for the type of riding we do. I swapped out the stock 30 tooth stamped steel chainring for a 32 tooth SRAM X01 CNC-machined chainring on both bikes. I put KMC X10SL 10-Speed Chains on both bikes as well.

The bikes ride very smooth and shift like butter. I'm looking for a set of wheels for my Wife's dispatch 7/60. I had Crossmax 26" wheels on my last MTB 10+ years ago and I really liked them. Let's hope another CL QR 27.5 wheelset listing comes up at the right price.
