Brakes Stutter

Odd one this , my hybrid (bbs, mechanical) seem to judder at the front end when in use, pads seem find and pressure is even from each side... before I switch the pads, aby thoughts??

first off i would make sure that the caliper is hitting the disk squarely, just look straight down onto the top of the caliper and pull the brake; if you see the disk moving in any way and brake needs setting up corectly, not perfectly setup brakes can course noise.

secondly, its probaly your forks flexing, the juddering when the brake is being used while moving is the force of the caliper trying to stop the wheel, it will flex back then twang forward to its normal persition, these movements are very small but happen very fast and thats where the juddering comes from. changing the pads will to first stop this, but, once there are bedded in your still get the same noise

Probably caused by the fork flexing slightly. However, doing a "toe in" adjustment may help temporarily. Set the front edge of the pads about 1-1.5 mm closer to the rim than the back. This will wear down after a while and you'll need to do it again to maintain the effect.
