Avid BB7 bolt hitting roter, dishing problem or just thin disc tabs?

I recently built a front wheel, it is perfectly centered in the fork which I thought means the dish is correct.. however I just tried installing BB7s and the bolt is too long, the one that goes through the bottom hole of the disc tab is hitting the rotor when tight.

The fork is brand new so the tab is not bent or anything. Just wondering if I should further check the dishing, or just use a washer or shorter bolt. I measured the dishing by centering the rim in the fork, I do not have a dishing tool. It is a regular ISO mount not post mount.

Well I just confirmed it is not a dishing problem, I have a factory built wheel with the same hub (duh why didn't I try this in the first place) and the same issue is occurring, is this a common thing with thin disk tabs ?

just get a shorter bolt or file the current one down, or washer.

why would the dishing of the wheel have anything to do with the rotor mounting? just think about it :-)

if it was anything it would be a hub/frame/fork problem.

i would washer out the bolt a little, rather than a new one, the washers will help save your paint on your fork a little longer

Funny thing is, when researching before I posted this I came across someone else making that comment, and didn't really think about it now I get it though the hub is in the same place regardless, its the rim that moves. I am running on extreme lack of sleep, lowers the IQ hehe.

A washer solved my "issue". I think I need 18 hours of sleep.
