I have no doubt that the pros are already on to this. The microbiota are cool, but apparently unnecessary: it's possible to just eat the stuff. Google "propionate supplement" and "inulin propionate ester," abbreviated as IPE. I don't think IPE is on the shelves yet, but maybe soon, by the looks of it. Hard to know if just eating calcium propionate would do anything. But you could experiment! It's cheap. IPE might be the new gain-with-no-pain supplement.

Poop supplements, the future of sports nutrition. Poop from elite level athletes will become a highly valued commodity in the future.

Think Like a Freak (book) discusses this revolting topic.
Unfortunately, though at the early stages, there seems to be something to it.

Tour De France riders are cheating by eating poo of elite runners but it will be around 2026 when they bust them.

These folks are elites, too. My guess would be that they have their poop analyzed and see that they don't need it. It's the average Dick and Jane who would benefit most.

What about us below average Dicks and Janes? I will stick to performance enhancing cheap Keystone Light and a steak on the pit. 102 miles this week in the heat and I’m dead. I’m going to sit under the sprinkler as I water the yard.

If you've ever had mice in your house you'd know that they are only fur and poop. Amazing and useless creatures.

Yup, mice break into my bags of cattle cubes but only if they get past my best mouser. A small female cat that wondered up about 10 years ago. She left me a batch of kittens then I had her fixed. Killing machine, she keeps the mice population in check.
