All these idiots are telling me how Ultegra Di2 will be just like D.A. Di2 @ half the price.
Incorrect.
I even played with the shifters, the servo motors look clunky and work clunky compared to D.A. Like I said, I'm sure it works OK, but you are getting a lot of refinement for your $ with the D.A.

Text messaging is killing world grammar. No great loss to the upcoming generation of course. That's like trying to tell cavemen about car insurance.

...and we are not laughing with you...
The easiest way to tell the level of intelligence of someone is when they say, "You are blah blah.." Especially when they have never met the person. It is highly amusing.

RW...I've adjusted to Pcad over time. I rather enjoy his posts in fact and admit to not getting the guy before and maybe you are in that place. This place is a whole lot drier without him around. Pcad for such a simple man has a funny gig. He goes for shock value with an artful grain...or is that kernel?...of truth. This of course spawns all kinds of outcry which is what this thread has evoked. I enjoy the humor in that.
So Pcaddy overstates the divide between his beloved Di2 which he posts about to validate his overspending for something somebody doesn't even need on a road bike...electric shifting....and therefore Ui2 is unworthy at half the price. But guess what? Ultegra in any form be it mechanical or electrical will always be a better cost/benefit than DuraAce. They have always been close in performance and for the cost diff Ultegra will always be a better deal for the average cyclist. No doubt Ui2 fits this bill as well...as the owner stated that is fortunate to own both.

To me it's wasted bandwidth.

In a few more years 105 Di2 will have trickled down features. Or maybe not. Doesn't really matter. It'll take quite a lot more years for me to consider electronic shifting given the price tags. I'd rather buy new wheels.

If you are going to keep him on ignore, it is best if you actually listen to yourself.
And it is poor taste to flaunt who is on your ignore list, btw.
And not even doing that. Having an ignore list, displaying it to the world and then ignoring the concept of the ignore list. The mind boggles.
Pops, you are losing your touch as Pope. Not even 3 pages?

Well I think price vs value the Di2 Ultegra would work for most over the DA Di2 imo. You can get it on bikes OTD for under 5k so maybe by 2013 models it will be 4K.

The last brand new bike with Red that I built had more slop in both derailleurs than my 7 year old Dura Ace parts on my main bike have. The crank had runout at the rings, too. Color me not impressed.
