I bought one of these a couple of months ago from this seller and glad I did - makes setting up and adjusting brake cables very easy. I'd always used tie wraps before, never again. $10 free shipping.

I use a small bar clamp like this. Had them laying around and thought I'd try it once and it works great.

These ones on Amazon look similar, but apparently don't have the depth of the ones you linked:

Cheaper tho. Oh well, for me $10 well spent - no regrets. I've already used it on 4 bikes since I got it (lot of activity here lately...)

I like the ones you got better, but I have a credit with Amazon that doesn't help me with eBay.

1989 Rare Specialized Rock Combo 19.5"/58cm Gravel/Touring Bike - $999 (OBO) hide this posting

1989 Rare Specialized Rock Combo Gravel/Touring Bike
Top tube (C-C): ~ 58cm
Seat tube (C-T): ~ 49.8cm

This here is a Specialized Rock Combo. There's a good bit of info out there on this bike, but a quick synopsis is: only about 500 made, only made for one year ('89), maybe first production gravel bike. Drops and barcons are stock. Some other fun facts I'll leave for the inquisitive to discover.

Very rare, would have loved to keep it, it's just too big.
It's the medium size (labeled 17",19.5",21" in the catalog), but note; it's got a 58cm top tube.
Really cool bike, super rare especially in this condition.

A few quirks; I pulled off the old bar tape. It was gross anyway. I was going to wrap it again, but I figured the next owner may want to mess around with the brake lever position and/or pick out their preferred tape, so I left it unwrapped.

The stock wheels were replaced (not by me), but they're solid replacements. Specialized double walled rims to Deore LX hubs.
Interestingly, it has a 8 speed cassette instead of the stock 7s. This means that while the R shifter is indexed for 7s, it only works in friction mode currently. You could always grab a 7s cassette and spacer to use the indexing, but personally I have no problem with friction.

Condition: Great condition, needs some minor lubrication/adjustment.
Frame is has no cracks or dents. Paint has minimal wear. Some scrapes around chain (see pics).
Tires need replacement, tubes are good. Brake pads have some life, but are old.
Brake hoods are dirty and a bit gummy, but not ripped. Wheels are true and spin well.

Hopefully the seller still has the original fork, this Tommasini Super Prestige for $250 seems like a pretty good deal in Merrimack, NH

This one in Granite Bay, CA looks a bit rough but that is a Chorus group so the asking price of $880 isn't too bad...

If pink is your thing this could be interesting - $75 bid start, possibly a low-cost project with Tenax tubing. Looks to be in great shape, hardly ridden. Seller is a bit ambiguous on shipping - First he says he won't ship, local pickup or he'll deliver in a limited area. Then further down in the notes he says he'll update Wednesday with FedEx costs.

Saw this on Craigslist a couple months ago, an hour away from me but it sold before I got the chance to go look at it. The posting offered basically no information about it, and he was asking $300, but would've taken $250. Should I be kicking myself, or is that actually what one of these is worth? I don't need it but I'm really kicking myself.

Also can anyone ID it beyond "60's era Bianchi"? (Which is more than the Craigslist ad said.)
