Found some chainrings, finally.

I screwed up about a month or so ago, putting some cheapo chainrings on my Sugino AT cranks. 🙄 And to make it worse, someone grabbed my old Bio-Pace rings that I was replacing, that I thought I stashed fairly well, lol. 🙁
Today, fate made it all better. 😁 I bought an old Schwinn Sierra mountain bike cheap at a swap meet. Nothing to write home about, but these Sakae-Ringyo chainrings are in close to new condition, after a good cleaning with hand cleaner & paper towels. 👍 Plus the middle & granny gears are good ole steel. Oh, yeah, scored a pretty decent saddle & handlebar mirror, plus a bottle cage that says Paramount. 😎

And here they are, mounted. Something looks really "off" about that middle ring, the writing is on the wrong side. 🤔 But that's how it fits right, and it shifts just fine now. The chainrings are way more important than I thought, for cosmetics, and these ones do the old Sugino ATs justice. 😎 Bummer though, I trashed that flimsy Sugino dust cap. 🙄

I saw online, that this saddle was original on a couple models of Kleins, but not a lot else. 🤔 It's plenty comfy though, good enough till I grab another Brooks. 👍

If you mean the bike, that's not very new to me now, lol, but here she is. My 1985 frame (CC serial) that's almost for sure an ST500. 😎 I just got those chrome risers this month too, off a trashed early Giant MTB.

No worries, mate. I always wanted to say that, but you have to be careful where you use it, when you're a dumb American. 🤔 😉

I'm geezer touring in Arizona, lol. That's where you go everywhere kinda slow, smoke plenty of good weed, and don't really care about zigzagging or going to some places a lot more than once or twice. 😁 This month, I grabbed an ounce of Gorilla Goo, which is Gorilla Glue #4 crossed with something called Afgooey. I never tried that one yet, but Gorilla Glue #4 is about the best I've smoked, previously. 😎

Interesting note, the makers of Gorilla Glue glue, sued the farmers who "borrowed" the name for their weed, to make them stop using that name. 🤭😉

I forget now exactly what they renamed it to, but it's easy to do a search. 😉

i'm in arkansas, so things like that are limited in terms of variety. at some point in the next less than a decade the tide may shift. they're already trying to set up medical use. but, it's the bible belt, so who knows what that'll mean in policy. i just hope/pray...however you wanna put that...we have more concerning points of matter shift before...well......legal weed is staggeringly trivial by comparison

sounds like you're enjoying life rather well, though, brother. keep it up!! safe travels

Great thread! I like reusing bike parts and illinois is going to legalize. I wont use much if at all but the tax money is nice and so are those who partake.

I'm actually squarely in the middle of the medically qualified crowd, but paying my share of those taxes, for recreational weed. We just need to get the whole thing rolling well for now, then work out the details as it progresses. 👍
I couldn't get comfortable with that middle chainring, and took it all apart again today. 🙄 I had it right after all, there's only one way it CAN fit, but that writing on the wrong side just bugs me. 🤔😉
I even remembered to lube the chain this time, so it's pretty smooth now. 😎
