I am also a PBK fan. And I prefer to buy books and other things online from UK vendors as well - they always ship Air Mail, and things get to my front door in about a week; from California, things seem to take *forever* to get here.
East Coast U.S. vendors do better, but UK prices beat everyone else out.

My last order from Wiggle (shoes and pedals) was hit with duty/taxes at the door. I put in an appeal to customs to get the money back....a cycling hail Mary if you will.

I think shoes only are subject? the duty schedule is on the cbsa's site, so there should be no surprises... although i once ordered from wiggle and the cbsa agent classified it as party supplies and converted my cad price as if it gbp, then taxed me on that!

I just checked out the site. When I sent in my "appeal" i sent in the orginal receipt from the box and it only shows "bike parts" so hoping I can recoup the duty back. Either way it was a fantastic deal compared to local prices.

I've used nashbar a few times.... they are in the US, I know, but they have good prices and good USPS shipping prices to Canada. I ordered a cycle trainer and a few tires; both got through without any customs/ duty placed on them. Only $30 shipping in total. Though, I too did pay HST.

Just got an order in from PBK today, 50 dollar bibs...stung with 22 bucks in duty. Brutal, wonder why all of a sudden i've got hit twice. I have not heard back from my "appeal" on my last charges.

Cycle Path - www.cyclepath.ca - is the best Canadain retailer that I have found. I also use Nashbar and Wiggle.
