If you have a bicycle that fits and that you enjoy riding, then just ride it. You'll learn a lot if you repair and maintain your bike.

Try google searching
google has been completely neutered, its way worse than it used to be. Including specific sites/forums in the search helps, its the only way to get anything anymore.

They want you to ask siri and have ai do the searching. Maybe someone with a machine learning background can expand, I don't understand the specifics at all

So what?

Can't expect the 1st hit from a search to be the bible for finding the perfect bike.

The Gen-tiktoks have no issue blowing 8 hours a day on swiping videos and likes, but when it comes to back breaking and painful legwork to search and reading for actual knowledge, that's like some climbing Mount Everest accomplishment.

I don't use google .... but search engines are not hard to use. Winnowing bad results is a lot easier than going to the library to find that there are no books on the particular subject ..... are there still libraries? (trick question; of course there are, because homeless people need to shop online too.)

I try to be nice to new people (so I don't get banned) but I appreciate it if the new person actually did a half-hour of actual searching to find out the basics and narrow down preferences. If someone wants a bike and doesn't think to visit a couple bike-manufacturers' sites, or a couple bike-sellers' sites .... I can sometimes get a little frustrated.

Anyone who makes an effort ... I will make a similar or bigger effort to help.

Usually.
