I haven't been on Valencia in a while but WTF is going on there. I am in the Richmond and wanted to go to my favorite taqueria on 24th. Valencia was never great for biking but I am not sure what I am to do now.
The bike lane says closed, but there are people biking there. If I don't go in the bike lane then drivers pass me super close. Left turn off Valencia is super sketch because I'm supposed to go to the right right to do a jug turn but then I'm up against the car lane where drivers are passing a foot away.
I went as far as 19th and turned around to go to Buen Sabor instead and walked back to 17th.

Haven't been up in the city in a minute but I read about some middle lane pilot for bikes? Sounded confusing; what happened to just riding on the road and taking a lane when necessary?

The City's putting in a new center bike lane that's been officially not open but looks sort of like it's open during the protracted buildout. Which causes a lot of confusion.

Officially and maybe practically, if you need to ride on Valencia, you should probably be riding in the car lane and taking the lane if need be. But probably best to avoid Valencia until at least the lane is finished and officially open for use.
