Sleeveless Jerseys?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sleeveless Jerseys?

Are sleeveless jerseys ever acceptable? Or are they just tacky? If not racing, does gender matter?

Can women get away with sleeveless jerseys, but not men? Opinions?

Most triathletes wear sleeveless jerseys so I don't see how it can be considered tacky. I wear those champion sleeveless running shirts u get from Target for 12 bucks most of the time when it's hot as hell. They are super cheap and keep me pretty dry. Who cares what you wear if you are comfortable and gets you out riding.

here in FL, for me, sleeveless is about the only way to go 6 months out of the year. I ride no matter how hot or humid, but without a sleeveless jersey it is just too hot!

Ride what you want, wear what you want. Stop worrying about what others think. This isnt a jr. high dance. The mportant thing is to get out there and ride.

EDIT: However, please make sure you wear a shirt. No one wants to see that.

Wear whatever you want...

Personally I'll never wear anything sleeveless. It doesn't look good in my opinion and you get weird tan (weirder than a than you'd get with a jersey). On women though, I think they're fine.

Peddling's comment wasn't really bad it just points out the differentiation.

No, I get his comment. And yes sleevles jerseys are a triathlete kind of uniform. However I also own a couple, I dont really care what anyone thinks about my jerseys in general. I just didnt care for his posuer comment. way to broad of a generalization. I buy and wear what I like, if its a performance sleeveless jersey or a saturn replica team jersey, whats it to him?
