How do YOU train?
My wife just turned the big 3-0 last weekend, so I got her a Kinetic Fluid Trainer along with some clipless pedals and shoes. Since it's pretty much freezing down here in Houston, it worked out perfectly. Between us, we've used it everyday since we got it and we couldn't be happier!
As for my workout, I use the trainer every other day for my cardio. Saturday and Sunday, are my heavy lifting days. The weekdays I don't use the trainer, I do circuit training using light weights. Here are some pics of what our workout room looks like. All the equipment is facing a 32" LCD TV, so we don't get bored...
How do you guys workout? Aside from riding?

With our weather we can usually ride 3+ times/week, but weekend's are critical since we take a longer (40-60 mile) ride on Saturday. I have a Kurt trainer, and will start using it a few times/week for 30-45 minutes, but I really don't like these things. I'm currently doing strength training 3-4 times/week at a local gym.

I definitely prefer the real thing compared to a trainer, but it's a pretty good alternative.

Don't have to do it now but I used to do a big ride in June. From Late Jan it was down to the gym twice a week aswell as the weekend rides. When it got light enough- a couple of hard 30 milers on the bike aswell as the weekenf milage that got tougher and longer and still kept up the gym. Occasionally the weekend rides got to being Century rides on the road or Metrics offroad till by the middle of May I was fit enough for the ride.
Unfortunately after the ride- training calmed down a bit to just being Fun 30 milers offroad and long road rides on the MTB---Just to ease off training. Then Novemebr came and I realised it was rime for the Gym again but took spinning classes that were fun but not as good as the training I had done last year.
Cross training in the Gym works- but is boring. Much rather get out on the bike and ride.

I do a variety of things right now. P90X, swimming, running, Spinervals and lots of work around the farm. Training for a triathlon in May so most of my concentration right now is swimming.

Are those powerblocks or something else? Looks pretty cool. I have the Bowflex version but they only go up to 50lbs. These types of dumbells are great, but they are sometimes too large. Never could get into using my Bowflex. Just collects dust now.

Yup, they're powerblocks. Originally, I had the 50lb version also, but then after a few months of using them, they were too light for dumbbell presses... so the store I bought them at let me exchange them. Now, they're more than enough weight. The machine is a crossbow by weider... similar to the bowflex, but at a fraction of the price. I use it to mix up my workouts, but I really just use the bench for my dumbbells, since i can lay it flat or stick it on two different incline positions.

HAHAHA... It's kinda funny how spoiled I've become after moving down here! I was born and raised in Michigan and lived there for 28 years prior to moving down here in 2007 but man, i tell ya... after living here for 4 years, anything below 45 is pretty damn cold!

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
Just got a couple of these to replace a worn set of bands; the outgoing set used clips to attach three strengths of bands onto one pair of handles, which was handy in a way, but the grips didn't turn like these do, and I've had a clip undo itself after getting out of line on the attachment ring. I may get some Powerblocks, but I travel a lot, and these are a lot easier to carry in my luggage.
I also have a pullup bar in the closet doorway at home, and since I'm not creative enough to come up with my own routines, I use P90X and, occasionally, some Insanity videos.
There was a thread earlier this week where the threadstarter was looking for advice on getting some strength back in her glutes. She said that even though she's been riding for years, it hasn't really helped as much as she would have liked. I've never used cycling as my only form of exercise, and after reading that thread, I'm going to keep doing extra off-bike stuff.

I run 3-4 times a week (only 5-10k) and ride the trainer the days I don't run in the winter months here in the great white north.
I put in a day off every now and then but general do some type of cardio everyday. I also do a bit of hand weights but have not touched them in months it seems. I downloaded an iphone app "100 push up challenge" and completed it a months ago but now I love just doing push ups after my trainer/jogging session.
I just took up jogging in November and only run outside when it is safe (no icy spots) but have been running in the snow pretty much since December as we've been dumped on with cloud poo. Good work out.
My trainer room is nowhere that nice...it is a converted closet but does the job.
I just came back from a vacation in Jamaica and did a few runs in the sand, yep same difficulty but way nicer to dip in the ocean to cool off after.

Over the winter I do nothing and get fat but in the spring I ride my fixed gear to get in shape for riding my other bikes. It works.

I only train when I have a tour that starts within 2 months. Then I mostly train my butt not to get sore. Other than that I ride a K. Kinetic road machine to keep my blood sugars in check.
