Got the Araya's and Sunshine professional hubs back from the LBS laced with fresh spokes. Gum walls are in their future.

Today I test rode a Specialized S-Works Tarmac Disc Di2.
Oh my god I'm in love. How hard is it to sell a kidney on the black market?

Surprisingly enough, the Allez was almost as comfortable and fast as the Tarmac in the 10 min climb I did. I just hate shimano mechanical shifters and the moving brake lever.

To each his own I guess. I thought the lever was broken when I was descending and forgot what components I was riding. Doubletap is kinda weird, but I'd rather have that than a wobbly lever.

I like having the brake lever on the DoubleTap but the shift feel is so off with it. I might try the Gevenalle levers which are brakes with a downtube or barcon shifter mounted to the front. They made them for cross racing because they are simple and less moving parts to get clogged with mud and whatnot.
DI2 is awesome though. You can mount shifters anywhere and shift anytime and the little tiny robits will move everything perfectly. Though I wonder what SRAM is going to with their wireless system and what it is going to ride like because the Shimano stuff is magical.
The Clif stuff looks awesome, I am hoping the rep will be by soon so we can try it.

Did 35 miles on the fat bike in some snow, some snowy trails, some dry road, and a lot of freezing cold wind. Legs feel like I rode about 600 miles.

^^ Major bummer. I hope against all odds that you recover it, or failing that, find a good replacement.

Installed handlebars with the proper width (44cm FSA Omega Compact) I needed, SRAM S500 levers and a SSM Concor saddle. Oh man, what difference. So comfortable. Just need to tweak the bar/hood angle slightly and I'm gonna be in hog heaven.

Just recently entered the gates of hog heaven after 7 months of dialing in my bike and fit. Now the bike just hauls ass no matter what, without sacrificing comfort.

If only 'tweaking' my hood angle didn't mean having to re-wrap my bars again...sigh. EDIT: I shouldn't have second-guessed myself and angled the bars so the ends of the drops were dead-level INSTEAD of keeping the hood/tops transition totally flat...only to find out the neither the hoods or the drops/lever reach were in the optimal position that way. At least I'm getting tons of bar taping practice.

Your cog is slipping.
Today I am extremely pissed because some dumb kids who got themselves kicked out of the shop have been blasting our Yelp page with fake bad reviews. It's a good thing I don't have more important things to do.

Ah man, sounds like you are at the point I was at just three weeks ago. I was so insistent on having the ends of the drops parallel with the ground because it just looks so much better. But a level top area is more logical and comfortable. At least for me. Rewrapping bars always takes me twice as long as I feel it should and I don't feel like I've improved that much at the art of wrapping. Maybe after 50 more tries...

To sum it up in one sentence, because they're bratty idiots who like to start **** with everyone in the cycling community instead of being a part of it.
